• I’m only 17, can I still come?
Yes, but only if you are a tertiary student! You will still be required to show photo ID (Driver’s License, passport, HANZ 18+) and Student ID (or Confirmation of Study).
• Do I have to bring photo ID every night?
If you want to purchase alcohol, the answer is yes – no exceptions.
As we’ll have a licensed bar at the venue, you are required to present original Photo ID (driver’s License, passport, HANZ 18+) on entry. Photocopies or photos will also not be accepted. It must also be current (a.k.a. not expired).
• Can I smoke or vape at any of the events?
No - no exceptions, our events are smokefree. If you are caught smoking or vaping at any of our events, you run the risk of being asked to leave.
Save yourself the temptation and leave your vape at home.
• Are passouts (leaving and returning once entering the event) allowed at the events?
No - no exceptions. Good news is we will have an outdoor area available at the event where you can catch some fresh air, food and water (no smoking or vaping).
• I’m not a VUW Student, can I still come?
Yes and no, there is a limited number of R18 individual General admission tickets that you can purchase as a non-student, however, only Tertiary students can buy Combo Tickets or individual Toga Party tickets.
• I lost an item at the event - where do I go for Lost Property?
All Lost Property found during the event will be kept at our Coat Check counter, before being taken to VUWSA’s Office at the end of the night.
Lost Property can be collected from our Kelburn Reception during our normal office hours; 9am - 4pm weekdays.
Ticketing
• Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are on sale now here! ➡ tickets.vuwsa.org.nz
• Do I have to buy tickets to come to O-Week?
For all advertised live music nights, Toga Party and the Comedy Show, the answer is yes. However, follow our Facebook for smaller free events we’ll be running throughout the trimester!
• Do I need to print out my ticket?
Nope - as long as we can scan the barcode off your phone you’re all good!
(And don’t forget to charge your phone up before you arrive to make sure it lasts all night!)
• I missed out on tickets – what can I do?
Once tickets are sold out, they’re sold out. Keep an eye on our Facebook event page as there will be some giveaways in the coming future.
We strongly discourage purchasing tickets through Facebook groups or similar. There’s no guarantee that these tickets are genuine, or not being on sold multiple times. If you do purchase a ticket off Facebook and are then unable to get into the show as it’s not genuine or already been scanned, it’ll be tough luck we’re afraid!
• I’ve got an issue with my ticket, who do I talk to?
Get in contact with the Ticket Fairy team! Check out the website here. For any non-ticketing O-Week issues (we personally can’t help with those), email here.
• I changed my mind about attending – can I get a refund?
In short, the answer is no.
As a ticket buyer, you will acknowledge that occasionally, events are changed by VUWSA due to circumstances beyond our control, such as weather conditions or pandemics such as Covid-19. Please note that in the event that an event is postponed and not cancelled then refunds will not be offered, nor given.
VUWSA reserves the right to add, withdraw or replace any artist or performer, and to amend the event programme, including date(s), prices, venue capacity and/or seating arrangements.
Transaction fees including delivery, booking, and credit card fees are not refundable.
You must hold a valid ticket to attend the event. Unless tickets are purchased from an authorised sales channel, they may be voided or you may be refused admission.
Covid-19: The parties acknowledge that, as at the time of purchase, there is a respiratory outbreak caused by Covid-19 that is impacting New Zealand. The parties agree that where it is impossible or impractical for the performances to take place due to any cause or event in connection with Covid-19 pandemic that is not reasonably within the control of the promoter, then the Performance will be cancelled and the parties will have no further liability to each other, the ticket purchaser will be refunded any monies paid to the promoter less any booking fees paid to the ticket agent and credit card fees paid to the ticket purchaser’s bank.
I bought a single ticket to the wrong day, can I swap it to another?
Nope. No refunds, no swaps. Make sure you read the ticketing page carefully before you purchase!
