Great News, ProctorU is out!

After months of lobbying, VUWSA is stoked to announce that there will be no use of ProctorU invigilation software this trimester in any faculty. We understand alternative options for remote invigilation are being explored (and tested), so if you have any concerns, experience any issues or have a question that needs answering, fill the form below and our academic team will be in touch to support and help you out. Or you can email Joseph at studentvoice@vuwsa.org.nz

Why did we not want ProctorU to be used?

ProctorU’s debut at Te Herenga Waka in Trimester 2 2020 became a pressing issue for the academic and advocacy team at VUWSA. Considerations surrounding equity, privacy, troubleshooting, reliability and cost did not meet our expectations. The software disproportionately affected students who could not access private, quiet spaces or suitable technology. As well as disabled students, students needed troubleshooting support during assessment and those who had other assessments that the failing software distracted from and interfered with.
