All Affiliated Student Clubs, Representative Groups and Ngāi Tauira can use VUWSA BBQs free.
The BBQs were purchased by VUWSA for the above groups to use and VUWSA will also cover the cost of gas for you.
The BBQs can be made available to the University and University departments for a nominal fee - this is to cover the costs of gas and the BBQs themselves. It is important to note that Affiliated Student Clubs, Representative Groups and Ngāi Tauira will have first priority when booking the BBQs.
The BBQs are Weber Q2000 units. There are three of them that can be booked for your use. When making a booking please select the number you will need.
Please read the FAQ section before making a booking and also check the calender for the BBQs to see what are available.
Once you have made your booking we will get back to you to confirm the details, this may take a day or two.
FAQ
The BBQ/s need to be picked up during VUWSA Kelburn Office hours generally 10-4pm weekdays (if there are any doubts check in with VUWSA reception kelburn@vuwsa.org.nz)
The BBQs do not have wheels or carriers, they need to be carried by hand or? (we don’t always have trolleys available and gas bottles can be heavy, please plan ahead)
They must be returned clean. The plates come out and can easy to clean in a sink.
We don’t have tongs or BBQ tools to go with the BBQ/s, please bring your own.

Costs
Funded by VUWSA for Affiliated Student Clubs, Representative Groups and Ngāi Tauira.
Other University use but not as per above will be $5 per BBQ.
If you are using them after hours then they need to be returned the next business day;
The BBQ/s are your responsibility until they are returned in person to VUWSA
Do not leave them outside VUWSA or around the University
If they go missing while you have them, we expect you to replace it with another Weber Q2000 or Q2200.
If you damage a BBQ please let VUWSA know.
The BBQ/s are free for affiliated clubs or recognised Rep groups otherwise there is a charge (VUWSA has covered the cost of the BBQ/s and gas for you).
We will lend them to VUW, there is a $5 charge payable via invoice or at VUWSA reception (to cover the cost of gas) (per BBQ).
The University wants to keep the courtyards clean, if you spill it you clean it, this is your responsibility.

The BBQs do not come with fire extinguishers or fire mats, this is intentional.

VUWSA is not funded by the Student Services Levy to provide this service, Student and Campus Living are funded to provide support for Clubs and Societies at Victoria. VUWSA has chosen to provide the BBQs and Gas because we think it is in the best interests of you, our students.
We are open to making changes to the BBQs and system we have, let us know if we can make improvements.
